An Online Free Facebook Sexual Abuse Recovery Group has been a big help to me. Awhile back a member posted this:
“Up early reading and drawing this pic I had seen somewhere. This was my entry in my prayer journal today. It feels good to have a glimmer of hope toward healing.”
On right side of journal: …a picture of woman on her knees holding up her broken, fragmented, falling-apart heart to God in prayer…powerful picture. The words to the right of her uplifted heart: HEAL MY BROKEN HEART.
On left side of journal: Psalm 34:18 “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
“When we are at our weakest, God is our strength to begin anew. When we are at our lowest, God gives hope to rise again. When we are at our saddest, God knits our hearts together moment by moment.” 2/29/2020.
This Recovery Group is a safe place with moderators that keep it safe and professional counselors too. The membership enables individuals to share their stories, recognize the commonalities we share, feel community and support and do much more.
When I saw above post I had just posted on my Facebook page this video. I thought maybe these two posts together might help the hurting and broken-hearted.
This video is 15 minutes but powerful.
The best initial part of this video TED TALK is concerning compassion toward a man who shared his Abandonment, abuse, atheism and the kind thoughtful response he got. Here’s a partial summary.
This ATHEIST ASKED “How can anyone believe God exists?”
The Response: “I hate to hear what you have been through and don’t blame you for having doubts!
I don’t have an answer for you right now but I do have a question & an invitation:
My question is: hypothetically if all your questions had answers that provided more reasons to believe in God than not, what would you do?
My Invitation is twofold: I want to invite you to join me in a future investigation of your questions, and second, in the meantime, I want to invite you to pray the Skeptics prayer: God if You are out there would you please do whatever it takes to help me find You?” (Or my version)=help me to know You and that You are there.
Never give a 10-cent answer to a million dollar (really infinity dollar) question. He quoted out of a book titled They Like Jesus but not the Church.
Please watch the 15 minute video to hear the very best part at the end!
Thank you for your reading and interest.
May God Bless you!
Deborah
Thank you!!!
